What is running, and what is not.
This page is written by hand and dated. If the API goes down, every subscriber is emailed when it does and again when it is back.
Aurith is open. The API is published at
api.aurith.ca and serves articles in five languages.
Plans and pick-your-own packs are on sale on Services;
make an account, pay by card, and make your keys on the account page. It is beta:
new software, so expect the odd outage or error while it grows.
Eighty sources polled continuously, day and night. This has been running since before there was any thought of selling it.
Items are read as they arrive and written up as full articles, unattended, around the clock. Two stories every five minutes, each in every language — slowly, because the same machine is doing other work.
Five, written continuously: English, French, Spanish, Punjabi and Hindi.
Seven key routes at api.aurith.ca,
every one of them behind a key, plus a free delayed sample. Docs describes them, and
now describes something you can call rather than something planned.
Accounts, card payments through Stripe, plan changes, undo and refunds all run from the account page. Prices are on Services.
What this page will report.
Not a green tick. The instrument behind this API keeps a written record of everything it measures, and this page will do the same: numbers, dated, including the ones that are worse than last month.
- Median and 90th-percentile latency Publication to held, over the last day and the last thirty. The 90th matters more than the median and is the one usually left off a status page.
- Sources answering How many of the eighty responded on their last poll, and which did not. A named source that has gone quiet is more useful than an uptime percentage.
- Requests served and refused Including the rate-limited ones, because a limit nobody publishes is a limit customers discover.
- Incidents, written up afterwards What broke, what it cost, and what was changed so it does not happen again. Dated and kept, not deleted once resolved.
How changes are announced.
Service changes and incidents are recorded on this page, with dates and what changed. Any uptime commitment will be stated here before anyone is asked to pay for it — not implied by an all-green dashboard.
If something is wrong and this page has not caught up, write to api@aurith.ca. Aurith will review it.
